Lyndsey Sullivan Photography Studio-And a Few Words From Me :)

June 6, 2014

So coming off a super high from last night at the outpouring of support during my first studio “sip & see” I had to share a few images I took prior to everyone arriving! I can’t tell you how thankful I am for every. single. one of you who came out to support me last night. I am still in shock at how many of you came!!  Seeing all of your smiling faces made me even more thankful that this is where I ended up. I feel like between the ages of 20-30 (and sometimes longer, or even forever!) you are really trying to find what it is you are “supposed to do.” I can’t tell you how many people I talk to about this and who I encourage to really search for what it is that they love, and go for it. Yes, it’s scary, it takes time, and sometimes you fail. But in the one case you don’t fail, every bit of risk and sacrifice is worth it. I remember when (not that long ago!) I was traveling with my husband for his job full time and first told him I wanted to spend almost $4000 on one camera and one lens, I thought he was going to have a heart attack! But he trusted me, and for some reason I just had this feeling. I felt completely led to quit my comfortable path in sales/marketing and drown myself completely in photography. I remember when my husband would be on the road and I would be at our apartment alone in the middle of a nowhere town where I also knew no one, and I would stay up until 5:00am watching you-tube videos on aperture and how to create “bokeh.” So many nights I remember doing that. I look back on how little I knew then….not that I even come close to knowing it all now, but it makes me smile to think about taking pictures of a shoe in the middle of my dark living room until I understood how to use my settings on manual 🙂 Anyways, without going on forever, let me just say, I never thought that I would be a wedding photographer.  I had no idea this is what I wanted to do…until I picked up a camera and started learning. Now a few years later to have worked with so many awesome brides and family clients…yep, it’s pretty darn awesome, and I am pretty darn thankful.  There are so many brides and families (including my husband’s family) who supported me and sang my praises to everyone they knew. Courtney, Frances, Laura, you are the three brides that first come to mind–though that list is ENDLESS and I couldn’t find the words to thank any of my clients, friends, and family  enough, even if I tried.  I feel so thankful that God led me to this…and that we had to courage to trust it.  I absolutely love what I do, and amidst of this busy wedding season and 90 hour weeks where I really don’t have time to be writing this blog post, I just had to stop, and look around at all I have to be thankful for.  No, everything in life isn’t perfect, but so many things are, and for that I am eternally grateful.  Thank you Little Rock for welcoming me and my business with open arms!!

xoxo,
Lyndsey

My wonderful family attended the sip and see “in flowers.” Every single bouquet was beautiful, thank you all!!!

A few of my first client/turned besties below…I think Donna and Erin (E.Leighs) were two of my first clients in Little Rock 🙂 Erin’s gorgeous flowers she sent are pictured below right 🙂 Thankful for all my client-turned-friends 🙂 wish I could have gotten a picture with all of you 🙂

All of the framework in the studio is done by Mary Bennet’s BK Moulding. She does AMAZING work for my brides 🙂

My newborn shooting space is bottom right. Those little bitty babies sleep for hours on that bean bag 🙂 🙂 🙂

The cookies were from The Whimsey Cooke and YUM. Cute AND delicious 🙂

Happy Weekend Everyone!!!

    Lyndsey,
I am so happy and proud for you. We are sorry that we could not make it last night. I want you to know how grateful we are that you were a part of Marcy’s wedding celebration. You went “above and beyond” each and every time that we were with you from engagements to wedding reception!!! You truly made Marcy feel like a fairy princess. We could not be more happy with the outcome! You are an exceptional photographer and an even more beautiful person. I hope that we keep in touch and see you soon. Keep that beautiful smile!!! Lots of hugs and love, Sherry Hall and Marcy Hall Wright.
