I feel so thankful to have the opportunity to do what I love. I feel lucky to say, I know this is what I’m supposed to do! Taking photos of people, couples, families. Taking photos of love that you will love. Making everyone feel beautiful, because everyone is beautiful. Photography is my passion, here is my background:
A few years after I graduated from Auburn University, (WAR EAGLE!) I received an opportunity to move to Los Angeles and pursue acting and commercial modeling. My three year experience in Los Angeles was an awesome one, and I had the opportunity to work on an ABC show called Surviving Suburbia for a season with great actors such as Cynthia Stevenson and Bob Saget. I loved doing commercial modeling jobs as well, and got to represent a few pretty interesting characters! I worked with some really amazing photographers during my time in LA, and appreciate their work more than they could ever know!
After about 3 years in the industry, I realized that though I loved the experiences I had in Los Angeles, acting and modeling were not my passion. Yes it was fun, but also stressful, and always a roller coaster ride. The moments you hear YES are glorious ones, but you hear NO a lot more often! When I realized that acting wasn’t my true passion is when I decided it just wasn’t worth being on that roller coaster, and knew it was time for me to move on……to photography.
Did I mention, I LOVE PHOTOGRAPHY?!? I love it so much that I knew it was time to make it a part of my everyday life. It was my turn to be on the other side of the camera, and be the one taking the photos. I feel so lucky to be able to do something I am so passionate about every single day, and I feel beyond blessed to have an amazing husband who supports me fully and completely.
I love the moment when a client sees their images for the first time. The smiles are their faces are truly the most rewarding part of my job. These images will be memories they have forever, and I love that. Forever is a long time, and I want my clients to get that warm, wonderful feeling each time they are looking through their album, always feeling like it’s their first tiime. I hope that my understanding of what it feels like to be the subject in photos, will help others feel beyond comfortable when they are in front of my camera… everything that goes through your head during a photo session has gone through mine, so I feel like I have a simple understanding and commonality with those I shoot. Everyone feels awkward and nervous when they are in front of the camera, and that is completely normal! My goal is to put you in surroundings that you feel comfortable in, and allow you to let loose. All those nerves will be gone in a matter of minutes!! God has given each and every one of us a unique beauty, and it is my goal to bring that beauty out in your photographs! I look forward to taking pictures of you and your family!
